It will build on the success of our earlier publications of great arts stories, including Big Story Country (2008) providing a permanent reminder of the powerful role of the arts in the heart of regional Australia.
At least 4,000 copies of this new volume will be distributed across Australia to government, media, arts and health leaders and workers, and the general public. It will be a way of sharing our stories with Australians everywhere.
For this book to be a success, we need your help. We need your stories. We need your photographs. We want this book to be visually beautiful with strong lively stories backed up by stunning images and a sound evidence-base.
This project has been assisted by the Regional Arts Fund, an Australian Government initiative supporting the arts in regional, remote and very remote/isolated Australia.
We are looking for stories about arts and health projects or stories about organisations or individuals who are working with the arts to produce positive health and wellbeing outcomes.
The call for stories is now open and closes Wednesday 4 August 2010.
We are looking for stories that show how the arts and health can work together to achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes. We want to include a broad range of stories in terms of art form, health issue, location and beneficiaries.
To be eligible for consideration projects must have:
Step 1: Download and read the story submission information sheet
Download the information sheet (pdf 153KB)
Step 2: Fill out a story submission form
Download the submission form (Word 200KB). You can type directly into the electronic version, or print the form and complete.
Step 3: Find some eye-catching pictures
We want great images to capture the spirit of the stories. It is essential that you provide at least one of these for each story submission. If you do not have strong images it may be worth seeing if you can take new ones that capture an aspect or a person connected to your story idea. Send a few images if you like, but don’t be concerned if you’ve only got one really eye-catching picture.
Photographs can be electronic (tif or jpg format, 300dpi, about 1MB in file size) or print (at least 4x6 inch, high quality prints)
Submissions, including CDs and photographs, will not be returned, so make sure you keep your own copy.
