On behalf of the Board of Regional Arts Australia, President Julie Boyd has congratulated Mr Ken Lloyd for his award of ‘Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia’, as part of the 2010 Australia Day Honour’s List.

JUMP into a new mentoring program for young artists

JUMP is the first program of its kind to support young artists anywhere in Australia to work with industry leaders across a wide range of artforms. Thirty six mentorship places of up to 10 months each are available this year for artists aged 18 – 30 and in the first five years of their career. More mentorships are available in 2011 and 2012. Applications close Friday, 26 February 2010.

Funding bands to tour: The Contemporary Music Touring Program

Arts Minister Peter Garrett is calling on musicians to apply for Contemporary Music Touring Program funding so they can take their music to the regions. Bands have until 5 February 2010 to apply under the current round.

Festivals Australia funding

Festivals Australia is an Australian Government funding program designed to assist the presentation of arts and cultural activities at Australian regional and community festivals. The emphasis is on supporting new projects, which add to the quality and diversity of the arts and cultural programming of regular regional and community festivals. The next funding round closes on 15 February 2010, for projects beginning after 1 July 2010.

New and updated national qualifications for visual arts craft and design

Funding for eighty-seven new arts projects in regional and remote Australia

Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts, the Hon Peter Garrett AM has today announced funding for communities, artists and arts groups across large areas of rural and remote Australia who will benefit from the latest round of the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund. Over $500,000 has been allocated to 60 projects in the latest project round.
