Call for stories for new Arts and Health book

Regional Arts Australia and the National Rural Health Alliance are working together to produce a book that highlights stories about arts and health projects from regional Australia.

New board joins Regional Arts NSW Network

The Chair of Regional Arts NSW, Meg Larkin, has welcomed the announcement by the NSW Arts Minister, Virginia Judge, to commit funding to establish a new regional arts board to service the communities of Griffith, Leeton and Narrandera in the Western Riverina area of NSW.

Funding for sixty eight new arts projects in regional and remote Australia

Communities across regional and remote Australia will share in $666,927 worth of funding with support from the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund. Sixty eight projects have been funded across the Northern Territory, South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania.

JUMP into a new mentoring program for young artists

JUMP is the first program of its kind to support young artists anywhere in Australia to work with industry leaders across a wide range of artforms. Thirty six mentorship places of up to 10 months each are available this year for artists aged 18 – 30 and in the first five years of their career. More mentorships are available in 2011 and 2012. Applications close Friday, 26 February 2010.

Festivals Australia funding

Festivals Australia is an Australian Government funding program designed to assist the presentation of arts and cultural activities at Australian regional and community festivals. The emphasis is on supporting new projects, which add to the quality and diversity of the arts and cultural programming of regular regional and community festivals. The next funding round closes on 15 February 2010, for projects beginning after 1 July 2010.

New and updated national qualifications for visual arts craft and design
